MORE ABOUT PULASKI HEALTH FOUNDATION
The Pulaski Health Foundation was developed in 1959 as the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Foundation, a non-profit agency designed to facilitate the development and building of Pulaski County’s first hospital in 1963. Once the hospital was handed over to the Pulaski County Commissioners by law, the Foundation continued in its current name to pursue its mission: To improve our community through
health and wellness.
Constantly reevaluating the needs of the community, the Foundation constructed and has operated Pulaski Health Care Center since 1987. Several remodeling and program expansions have occurred since then. Riverwood Commons, a 24 unit, income eligible senior housing project was opened in 2001 and the purchase of Parkview Haven in Francesville, Indiana in 2013.
Other community involvement for the Pulaski Health Foundation includes, participating in the Lilly Endowment Fund for the area volunteer fire departments, tuition assistance grants for those pursuing medically related degrees, donation of 14 passenger van to Pulaski Health Care Center, supporting the Pulaski school academic and athletic programs, sponsored a grant for the Panhandle Pathway through the Pulaski Community Foundation, breast cancer fund raising walks, health fairs, etc.
As part of the foundations continual self-evaluation over its 58 years, a new strategic plan was developed in the fall of 2011. In addition to the re-articulation of its mission, the core values of outstanding care, honesty, integrity and respect, stakeholder collaboration, and fiscal responsibility were reaffirmed.
For half a century, the Pulaski Health Foundation has been involved in improving the lives of Pulaski County residents. Almost every member of our community has benefited from the Pulaski Health Foundation. Behind the core mission is a vision to serve the Pulaski community, while advancing and providing opportunities for growth in quality and life enrichment resources. The Pulaski Health Foundation is committed to continuing to expand, build and strengthen our programs and services and seek out opportunities to support and enhance community involvement
